Purchase a Helping Hand for $1 (or whatever you wish to donate) to be displayed in the hallway. We will also be selling tickets to win one of 5 cakes next week! Each ticket to enter to win a cake is $1. All proceeds will go to United Way in Estevan. Grade K-5 students are busy practicing their performance, which will be aired on Friday, October 14.

Joining with communities across the country, SECPSD schools will be recognizing "Orange Shirt Day" on Friday, September 30th. This day is proclaimed federally as the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and represents an opportunity for each one of us to think about residential schools, expand our understanding of this history and commit to growing together through education towards reconciliation.

The Government of Saskatchewan has proclaimed Monday, September 19th, 2022, as a day in tribute and commemoration of Queen Elizabeth II. On this day she will be laid to rest in the United Kingdom and citizens are encouraged to reflect on our country’s longest-reigning monarch.
While September 19th is a day to honour Queen Elizabeth II, it has not been designated as a provincial public statutory holiday. As SECPSD is a provincially regulated workplace, it is not a public holiday for the Division. All SECPSD schools and facilities will be open, and students will be expected to be in attendance.

As we welcome students, staff and families back to school, Provincial Students' Day (Sept 1) is a good opportunity to issue a reminder about school-zone safety. We are encouraging all communities to pay close attention as our roads, walkways and school zones get busier with returning students and staff.
